The Local
Planning and Coordinating Councils (LPCC's)
Each of
Indiana's 92 counties appoints a Local Planning and
Coordinating Council (LPCC) whose primary
responsibility is to advise and assist with the
implementation of the First Steps System in their County.
Through the Local Planning and Coordinating Council,
community resources are identified and service providers are
invited to coordinate all available early intervention
services for children.
Each LPCC has a coordinator and members composed of local
providers, parents and community leaders. Each council is
responsible for developing and documenting a formal system
of communication and coordination among participating
agencies operating in its respective county.
